Below are some pictures of my latest Avanti Project. It is a 1989
Cafaro Avanti Convertible with 68,000 miles. I bought it in June of
2004. I purchased it because I have always loved the look of the
1989's with the ground effects and it is a
convertible.
I have also recently become a sucker for celebrity cars. A dealer told me he sold this car to Sofia Coppola, director and writer of LOST IN TRANSLATION while the previous owner told me it belonged to legendary physicist Richard P. Feynman. I have yet to verify any of this, but it is fun to think about!
The other reason I bought this car is that the price was right. As 1989's go, this car was pretty tired. It needs painted, new bumpers, a new top, radiator, shocks, weather stripping, electrical work, and body mounts. I have done some of these things already.
