EXTENSIVE OPTIONS LET AVX BUYERS
CREATE A LUXURY CRUISER
OR A RUBBER-BURNING ROAD ROCKET

Company President Says Nothing Is Too Outrageous.
Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Do you favor a plush, comforting, smooth-riding luxury car? Or do you prefer something on the wild side, with power to spare and glued-to-the-road handling?

Either way or anywhere in between there's an AVX Coupe option package to fill the bill. According to AVX Cars Founder and President Jim Bunting, since we're making a true custom built car, our philosophy is is too outrageous.

On the luxury side, a special upgrade option substitutes buttery-soft leather for fabric on the seats, door trim and console. Available in any color the customer wants, this package also includes a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Going beyond the standard seating, a selection of five different seats from the world-famous Recaro company is offered. And for the buyer who desires something totally unique, complete custom interiors are available.

On the performance side, engine options range from mild to extremely wild. AVX Cars will tweak any GM LT1 V8 (1993-1997 model years) or LS1 V8 (new for 1998) to obtain modest power increases or truly staggering BHPs. The top option, a supercharged variant of the LS1, cranks out 650 horsepower and yields a top speed of well over 160 mph. All of these powerplant upgrades are professionally engineered, street-legal, and designed to fit under the AVX hood with no unsightly bulges or scoops.

For supercharged models, the blower of choice is the classic Paxton. By selecting this unit, AVX cars remains faithful to the heritage of the original Avanti, which equipped with a Paxton blower set 30 speed records at Bonneville with Andy Granatelli at the wheel.

To harness the available horsepower, AVX offers three suspension group options to improve general handling and cornering. The most radical of these makes the car a viable contender on the race track.

Braking options are also offered, allowing the manufacturer to tailor each car to the driving style of its owner soft, normal or aggressive. The ultimate option includes huge four-wheel disc brakes, each with competition-grade four-piston calipers.

This supercharged AVX turned 13.8 seconds at 102 MPH for the quarter mile at Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania.
