Insuring Your Avanti

This poor Avanti was hit by a tree during a storm.

When I bought first my Avanti, I found to my surprise that it was difficult to insure. Nobody had any data on the car. Most agencies did not event know what an Avanti is. Below is what I have figured out about insuring an Avanti.

A Studebaker Avanti is easiest to insure as it was a regular mass production car.

Avanti IIs are considered limited production vehicles and are less desirable risks to insurers.

State Farm will insure Avanti II ! Along with my other car, my Avanti policy with full coverage is less than $200 per year. This policy assumes minimal driving.

CIGNA has a classic car policy with a 2500 mile limitation. I had this for awhile. It was about $400 a year. I bought it through Parish Heacock 1-800-678-5173

Allstate actually had the Avanti in their computer and book! My rate there was kinda pricey, but it had no limitations.
